2013-2014 Florida Alliance for Arts Education Arts Integration for Teaching Artists and Others Webinar Series

This engaging webinar series, hosted by Dr. Enrique Puig and Dr. Mary Palmer, is focused on successfully integrating the arts as an important avenue for learning and for engagement.

Mary Palmer and Susan Rosoff will be featured presenters on Jan. 23 and Feb. 27. Programs one and two, Arts as Text, investigate literacy learning as a process and the reciprocal role of the arts in equipping college and career ready students with the 21st century skills of: Critical thinking and problem solving, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity and innovation. Specific lesson demonstrations, recommendations and suggestions for implementation will be provided.

Classroom/subject area teachers, arts teachers, administrators, teaching artists, community arts organizations and others are invited to participate in this series.

2014 marks the fifth year of the successful Florida Alliance for Arts Education Arts Integration Symposia Series, the brainchild of Dr. Mary Palmer. The Series provides professional development and training for teachers, teaching artists, and community arts partners. Each Symposium offers a single day of outstanding sessions delivered by local and statewide exemplar practitioners of arts integration. Sessions are designed to launch or extend your successful implementation of arts integration strategies, provide up-to-date information on State and National Standards as well as tips on making the arts accessible to all of your students.

Series is scheduled for Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. with special afternoon programs presented by the Florida Music Educators Association and VSA Florida.
