Dr. Mary Palmer is the epitome of the word ‘activity’.
She inspires us, makes up laugh, helps us to see that there
are butterflies in every caterpillar and is a true believer
in arts integration. Having her work with us is a delight!
Mary is a teacher in every sense of the word… give
her some music, a story or a paintbrush and she will turn
even the most timid teacher or student into an artist worthy
of your local gallery. Our association with her has put
breath of fresh air and a swirl of color into every content
area at our school!

has opened the doors of arts integration
into our core curriculum and has inspired our teachers to
reach every child's unique talents and learning style. Teachers
find that instructional activities embedded in the arts better
meet students’ needs and that children more easily
retain what has been taught.

After decades of incorporating core subjects within my
art lessons, it is awesome to see classroom teachers in my
school utilizing the arts to teach math, science, history
and reading to our students. Their excitement is only overshadowed
by our students’ enthusiasm to use both sides of their
brain to complete an assignment in their classroom. Last
years’ Institute offered by Dr. Mary
Palmer gave our arts integration team the ability to go back
to our school and mentor their grade level teams in how to
incorporate the arts within the regular classroom. To quote
one of the classroom teachers: “I have seen the effect
that the arts integration has had on my students, and I am
amazed. I know my students have reaped benefits from having
a variety of ways to learn”. That is just one of many
positive reflective statements that I’ve received from
our happy teachers.
